SafeWrap is a proprietary method of restraint that requires a license for authorized use. The system has been adopted by agencies across public service sectors including law enforcement, fire, EMS, healthcare, and beyond. The licensing agreement exists to help ensure consistency, safety, and defensibility. Key benefits include:
- Standardized training in a medically reviewed method of restraint
- Ongoing distribution of updates, refinements, and safety improvements to licensed agencies
- Improved legal defensibility through the use of an approved, standardized restraint system
- Access to expert witness support from Gracie University in the event of litigation
The license is free for law enforcement organizations. Once you complete the instructor course and are certified to teach the system, your agency will have the opportunity to obtain a SafeWrap license at no cost.
Once you're certified in the SafeWrap system, your next challenge is getting buy-in from the rest of your organization. Sometimes you'll be presenting to your supervisors, other times to your direct reports—but in all cases, your audience must be convinced that SafeWrap is a valuable, teachable solution for everyone in your organization. It doesn't matter if you are presenting SafeWrap in a police department, hospital, church, school or anywhere else, the format will be the same, even if the techniques shown are slightly different.
